‘Once upon a time there was an ogre named Shrek….’ and thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero and his loyal steed, Donkey as they set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental ) Princess Fiona from her tower, guarded by a fire-breathing love sick dragon. Add the vertically- challenged Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairy-tale misfits, and a biscuit with attitude and you’ve got an irresistible mix of adventure, laughter, and romance, guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig, Shrek the Musical is a Tony award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring music by Jeanine Tesori with lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Thursday 28th July: A relaxed and BSL (Signed) performance at 2:30 pm and a BSL (Signed) performance at 7:30 pm. There is also a chill-out room available if any of the audience become overwhelmed and need a quiet calm space.
