The most lovely time of the year is here, and while they put away their Christmas decorations, SEA LIFE London Aquarium is bringing the holiday spirit home early by treating some of its most popular residents with tasty snacks.
The green sea turtles received their first taste of brussel sprouts, a holiday side dish, when they nibbled into enormous stalks of the leafy vegetable under the watchful eye of a team of festively dressed experienced aquarists at Christmas dinner. Meanwhile, with the help of a highly trained diver, some of the Aquarium’s tiniest residents donned similarly tiny Santa and elf hats in the Coral Kingdom area of the attraction.
The sassy octopus had even more fun with two new toys in the shape of Christmas crackers before the big day. The octopus, who recently joined the attraction, is frequently given new toys to play with in order to keep her active. She enjoys solving puzzles and playing with a variety of stuff.
But wait, there’s more! The yuletide cheer was shared by everyone’s favourite SEA LIFE residents in Penguin Point, where newcomers Raducanu and Gilbert, as well as the rest of the Gentoo penguin colony, couldn’t get enough of their fishy delicacies. SEA LIFE London’s aquarists, also known as Mother and Father Christmas, were on hand to dish away a frozen Christmas cake made of ice and topped with sprat in the shape of a Christmas tree.
