On a guided tour of the Abbey, get behind the scenes and see areas that aren’t generally open to the public.
Join a member of the Abbey staff for a 75-minute tour that takes you to regions of the Abbey that aren’t generally open to the public. You’ll visit the long-lost mediaeval sacristy, which was just discovered as part of one of our largest-ever archaeological investigations, as well as:
(Not included in December’s visits) The Jerusalem Chamber, where Henry IV died in 1413
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries, which opened in 2018 and display many of the Abbey’s treasures, were previously part of the monks’ dormitory and have a spectacular 15th-century oak roof and imposing 17th-century bookcases.
The Coronation Chair Shrine of Edward the Confessor is housed in St George’s Chapel (New for December tours)
Please note:
Children under the age of 15 will not be permitted access as part of the tour covers an excavated burial site.
This tour does not allow photography.
