Find Things To Do In North London

Welcome to North London

Despite being just a few miles from the city centre, the Angel Inn, on the corner of Islington High Street and Pentonville Road, was originally the first stop for stagecoaches travelling north out of London, and a lively living place grew here from the 17th century. In the direction of Newington Green and Stoke Newington, the magnificent Georgian homes and garden squares of Islington and Highbury give way to Victorian terraces. The area that formerly attracted artists and revolutionaries – many of whom are buried in the ancient Abney Park Cemetery – has cooled down, but it remains a haven for left-leaning creatives and a cultural hotspot. Finchley, Southgate, and Palmers Green, located on London’s northernmost outskirts, are perfectly positioned to provide a relaxing alternative to city living. They are close to some of London’s most beautiful forest parks and outstanding golf courses, as well as the North Circular road, making both locations extremely popular with commuters.
