Curiosity and investigation are crucial in today’s quest for a better knowledge of the universe. A similar philosophy was shared by ancient Greek intellectuals. In the free exhibition Ancient Greeks: Science and Wisdom, travel across millennia to see how this ancient culture pondered, discussed, and questioned the natural world. Ancient Greek intellectuals attempted to explain the world in a rational and mathematical manner through the intellectual synthesis of the arts, science, and religion. Discover the relevance of their discoveries through classic sculptures, musical instruments, and more, from the stars in the night sky to the myriad of animals in the water. Discover new information about the ancient Greeks based on the most recent scientific study, as well as historical artefacts and artworks brought together for the first time in the UK.
