The Yard is a theatre and music venue in a converted warehouse in Hackney Wick. The Yard was founded by Artistic Director Jay Miller in 2011, with support from Tarek Iskander, Sasha Milavic Davies and Alex Rennie and a group of 50 volunteers. They worked with the architectural firm Practice Architecture to convert a disused warehouse into a theatre and bar.
The Yard is also one of London’s most exciting venues for experiencing music, having parties for under-represented groups in London’s music scene, as well as hosting internationally renowned DJ’s and promoters every weekend.
Since 2011 their work has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people.
Shows they have made were transferred to the National Theatre, or have been turned into television series.
